Confirmation is the sacrament Catholics receive as a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Through Confirmation, the Holy Spirit gives the students the increased ability to practice their Catholic faith in every aspect of their lives and to witness Christ in every situation.
Our two year program, Chosen, “is a catechetical journey for teenage Confirmation candidates (also called confirmandi). This program is designed to provide the essential intellectual and spiritual catechesis that is so vital to sacramental preparation.”
Your high school student will be assigned to a class of about 10 other students with one catechist and that group will meet a total of 24 times throughout the two years. The Confirmation catechists have a wealth of experience working with high school students in our Youth Ministry programs.
The students will be required to complete the lessons as assigned by watching the online videos, reading the material, and filling in the blanks for each chapter. Should the student have a question about the material, the student should write those questions on the “Notes” page at the end of each chapter. In class, the catechist will review the chapter by answering the students’ questions and emphasizing the more significant points of the chapter.
