Liturgical Ministries

You may take for granted when you come to church on Sunday or for a special event the various “extras” that make the Mass or service a meaningful experience. Greeters welcome you as you enter. Lectors proclaim God’s Word. Altar servers assist the priests and deacons during the celebration. Mass coordinators ensure everything goes smoothly.  Various musical elements bring the liturgy to life.

These are just a few of the groups that make it possible for us to have beautiful, faith-filled celebrations here at St. Marcelline. Called the Liturgical Ministries, the following organizations play an active role in enhancing the various worship services we celebrate throughout the year.

If you are interested in more information or wish to join our roster of great ministers, please contact Dr. Marc Brunelle.

Adults and teens who proclaim the "Word of the Lord" each week.  New members are always welcome.

Mass Coordinators

Parishioners who assist the Director of Liturgy & Music with the overall set-up and coordinating of ministers at each Mass.  They are an invaluable key to a prayer-filled, well-planned and executed Liturgy.  They assist with set up of the vessels and litugical books, coordinating families to process up the Gifts, to making sure all the Eucharistic Ministers are present.  Anyone who has an interest in providing necessary leadership in the Liturgy are most welcome.

Dedicated members who maintain supplies in the sacristy, wash and painstakingly press the Purificators and other linens used at Mass, assist in cleaning the Church and many other "behind the scene" tasks.

Children's Liturgy of the Word

These adults and young adults provide our children an opportunity to hear God's Word in an appropriate environment where they can better understand the themes for a particular Sunday. They are processed from the assembly at the beginning of Mass, and brought to a special classroom. They are returned to their parents during the Prayers of the Faithful.
